SPECIAL NEEDS PLANNING
“WHAT IS IT YOU PLAN TO DO WITH YOUR ONE WILD AND PRECIOUS LIFE?” – MARY OLIVER
PLANNING BORN FROM EXPERIENCE
Caring for a loved one with special needs is a journey that spans a lifetime. Our mission is to use our specialized knowledge and personal experience to empower clients to navigate this journey with confidence and peace of mind. Most advisors put their focus on planning for when parents/caregivers are no longer here to provide for their child, but we also know how to help with the now.
When my daughter Emily was born 12 years ago, we found out at delivery that she had Down syndrome. I remember thinking about what our future would look like. I was holding a healthy newborn baby, and all I could “see” was myself in 40 years, walking through the grocery store with my adult child by my side, knowing that she was going be with us the rest of our lives.
Although there is much more to the story, Emily’s birth is the reason I decided to focus my work as a Financial Advisor helping families like mine plan for their child’s future. Fast forward 12 years, and I have learned a tremendous amount about the challenges and solutions that families face in managing their special needs child’s current needs, and planning for their future.
